Review: Lowbrow Tarot: Major Arcana Cards

If you are a collector of Lowbrow art or Tarot decks, you may want to add Lowbrow Tarot to your collection.

A deck of trumps, 22 cards along with a small description book fit snug into a box with a magnetic closure.  What I really like about this deck is that it features art from 23 Lowbrow Tarot artists who each have different styles and creative expressions of genius. The work on each card is clearly the creation of a "real artist", meaning someone who expresses depth through the medium of art.

Featuring artwork by renowned and accomplished artists: Jennybird Alcantara, Christopher Ulrich, Kris Kuksi, Edith Lebeau, Daniel Martin Diaz, Cate Rangel, Chris Mars, Christopher Umana, Brian M. Viveros, Chris Conn, Claudia Drake, Heather Watts, Carrie Ann Baade, Molly Crabapple, David Stoupakis, Patrick “Star 27” Deignan, Chet Zar, Jessica Joslin, Danni Shinya Luo, Angie Mason, Scott G. Brooks, Aunia Kahn and Laurie Lipton.

I am really impressed by the art work on these cards, truly stunning.  Lowbrow Tarot makes a great addition to my oracle collection, and is a great conversation piece ... Take note, the Lowbrow movement is indeed a part of the art culture, and it certainly has earned it's place in the respects of the hearts of the people who support the artists and their work.  I am so proud to have this deck because it says something bold - LOWBROW ART is significant, important and quite honestly ... a lot of fun!  As a professional reader myself, I really enjoyed looking at these cards, studying the details and descriptions.  I even gave myself a reading, and although this is not a full deck, if you are familiar with the tarot, the cards work great.  If unfamiliar, you may have some trouble.  This is certainly not a deck for beginners and the descriptions in the book are quite short ... brief and to the point.

I really like the back of the cards a lot.  The 23rd or the first piece art, in this 22 card set, by Daniel Martin Diaz, speaks volumes itself. Deeply symbolic, you will have fun with the back of the cards alone.  I sure did.  The design is purely brilliant.   Terra Aqua is upright and Ignis Aura is reversed.  There are many esoteric symbols to be discovered in this image, including those of the elements, the building blocks of nature.  If you love riddles, this deck will suit your fancy.

Rich in symbolism, the entire deck is a fun way to stretch the consciousness through meditation and contemplation of each card.

Wildly vivid, I am sure that this deck will arouse emotions of all colors from within the depths of your soul!  I found many of the images to be a bit disturbing ... perhaps a tickle to those behind such provoking artistry.

Unique & One-Of-A-Kind!
