What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique founded by the Buddhist Dr. Mikao Usui in
1922. It is used for stress reduction, relaxation and to promote
healing. Reiki translated literally means spiritual energy. It uses a
technique commonly called palm healing or hands on healing. It is
administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that life
force energy flows through us giving us life and vitality. Acting as a
vessel of this healing vital current of life energy, Reiki practitioners
direct this spiritual energy through their palms in the form of ki.

Reiki has been used in the treatment of many conditions ranging from the
