Review Tiny Love Soothe n' Groove Mobile

When I was a little girl I loved music, always dancing at every
opportunity, something I still do - Turn it up!. I accredit this to my
mother, who would dance with us children, especially when we were babies
- what fun! Spinning and twirling, laughing and letting go ...

Did you know that listening to music helps babies grow in every possible
way? Isn't that something to celebrate? So go ahead, find some rockin'
grooves and get out your best dancin' moves ...

Tiny Love knows the importance of music. According to Tiny Love, music
plays an important role in babies’ life, encouraging their development,
boosting their health, stimulating their senses and helping form neural
connections in their brains, beginning as early as in utereo. Music is
said to help babies form social relations, encourage cognition and
skills, gain a sense of confidence and build a strong emotional
foundation. This is especially true with classical music. According to
Tiny Love, playing classical music to your baby may activate the neural
pathways responsible for many intellectual skills including emotional
intelligence, creativity, spatial intelligence, mathematical ability and
linguistic ability. The first years are so significant in helping baby
realize his full potential and listening to music seems to be one
excellent way to do so.

Babies love music. Not only is it healthy for development and learning,
but it makes them smile and laugh. This is no ordinary mobile ... It is
revolutionary, as it will be in your child's life for the most important
developmental years, the first few. It transforms from a mobile into a
cute little carrying music boom box for toddlers. It plays a selection
of 18 different tunes in 6 separate categories including nature tunes
and classical that are pleasant for adults as well as the little ones
... It has a night light and a large button that makes it easy for baby
to play with. I wish I had one when I was little. This is a gift
everyone will enjoy as the music is peaceful and calming and the
speakers are high-quality so it sounds good.

Review: Wise Woman Herbal Books by Susun S. Weed

"Dedicated to the Wise Woman tradition, I help women to learn the oldest ways of healing - together we are rediscovering the green witch/healer in each of us.
My goal is to change how we think about health and healing. May we all reclaim herbal medicine as the simple, safe primary care it is; a gift of health from the green nations.
My primary ally, my teacher in all things is Nature: the Earth and her many companions. I live with the plants, and the weather, and my goats. I grow most of my own food, heat with wood, milk the goats twice a day. No radio, no recorded music, no TV, no newspaper intrudes on my day or interrupts my thoughts. I listen to the plants. I put their words into print. I publish their thoughts." -Susun Weed
Susun Weed, author of the Wise Woman Herbal series, is a sparkling, rare gem in the green world of herbalism ... a spirited, passionate and magical teacher whose wisdom is unsurpassed.

The voice of the Wise Woman tradition and founder of The Wise Woman Center in Woodstock, New York, Susun Weed began studying herbal medicine in 1965.

Her extensive knowledge of herbal wisdom and powerful personality put her on top when it comes to our green friends, especially concerning women's health.  She empowers women across the globe, weaving a beautiful design of health, healing and self-love ... teaching about our herbal allies.

If you want to rediscover the ancient Wise Woman ways, passed down through the generations, nourishing the wholeness of the unique individual, Susun's award-winning books are for you.  They offer Wise Woman approaches to common women's ailments including reproductive health, breast health, cancer prevention and treatment, fertility, menopause and childbearing.

The wisdom of Susun is delightful, enriching and green, holding an international reputation for her style and authority in the field of herbalism.  Her words are full of encouragement, inspiration and enthusiasm, creating a spark in the heart of all who read her work.  She believes that herbal medicine is people's medicine and has devoted her entire life to reweaving the healing cloak of the Ancients.  In addition to her books, she offers apprentice programs and correspondence courses.

To me Susun is the voice of the beautiful earth, our Ancient Mother.  Her work is a reflection of the love she has for the plants and the plants have for her.  Expect to be fascinated and at times enchanted, hoping the fairies reveal themselves to you while reading, learning and playing out in the nature world.

If you are a prepper, expecting impending doom, these books will save you lots of money on all those survival packs of food because you literally can go outside and forage, wildcrafting your way to health and happiness ... even during the apocalypse.

Unique and one-of-a-kind ... I expected them to be good, but was spellbound by the poetic voice of our Ancient Mothers words within the pages of Susun's books .. empowering me, calling me!

Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year

Written in 1985, Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year is Susun Weed's first book, now in its 24th printing.  This book is truly amazing and loved by child educators, midwives and pregnant women across the globe ... a must-have!!!

Many people do not realize the power that some herbs hold, good and bad.  I feel so blessed to know what I know from this book ... This book makes a great gift, even if the woman is not really into herbs because it acts as a protective shield, cautioning about the use of certain ingredients ... If you are into using herbs, this book contains everything you will need to have the best pregnancy possible with the help of our green friends.

New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way

I am too young for this book myself so I let my mom borrow it and asked her to share her thoughts.  I was excited to here her thoughts, as this book is quite radical compared to the kinds of things that my mom normally reads.  I wasn't surprised at all when she told me that she loves it and really learned a lot.  She took it to work and shared it with all her friends who found it really interesting too!  Everyone loves it and many went out and bought their own copy.  If you are menopausal or approaching, my mom and her crew highly recommend this book.

Healing Wise

This is the best herbal book I have ever read ... without question, no other book even comes close.  Packed with the secrets of the garden, Healing Wise is a collection of years of wisdom gathered through fairy whispers, mother earth and years of experience.  I am caught in the web of the self-loving Wise Woman Tradition ... You will be too!

Highly recommended!

Review: yogitoes® Mat-Size Peacock rSkidless® Yoga Towel

yogitoes® Mat-Size Peacock rSkidless® Yoga Towel Review (24" x 68")

The first thing that I thought when I saw this towel was "Gorgeous" and once you see one you will know why.

Where to begin ... Maybe with my dream the other night ... In my dream I was in what appeared to be heaven, although rather than being the way you see it depicted in books and movies it was vibrant and alive with color.  There were cupcakes that were vivid and smelled delicious, beautiful in ways that are difficult to describe.  Cotton candy of every variety imaginable took the place of clouds and you could eat it if you desired.  It felt peaceful and all the troubles or problems in my mind immediately had solutions and better yet, I understood the purpose in my life. In my dream there were stacks of the rSkidless® yoga towels ... they fit in perfectly.

The rSkidless® yoga towel is a must-have.  Designed to be layered on top of any existing yoga mat, the yogitoes® rSkidless® yoga towel is a super absorbent, hygienic layer to place on your yoga mat that prevents slipping.  It comes in an array of absolutely beautiful styles and colors, perfect for every kind of yoga.  The silicone dots grip the underside of the towel keeping it from bunching up or sliding around.

If you need to use someone else yoga mat or worse yet a communal mat, the rSkidless® will allow you to create a hygienic and clean place to practice.  It absorbs sweat and actually works better the more you sweat because maximum grip is obtained from a slightly damp towel.  These towels are especially useful and popular with people who practice Ashtanga, Bikram and any other hot yoga because you are going to be sweating a lot during the practice.

No other yoga towels even come close to this one.  Highly recommended ...

Camping Fun and Survival: Weather Prediction

Camping Fun and Survival: Weather Prediction

When camping you are vulnerable to the elements, but don't let that scare you off. You have all the tools in nature to predict upcoming bad weather, allowing you to be prepared at anything that mother nature throws in your direction. These survival tips are great for everyone, of all ages, and fun to learn. Predicting upcoming weather is not only a great skill when out living it up in the great outdoors, but it could save your life someday. Don't worry if you don't get it right the first time. Great weather predicting comes with experience. With time the subtle cues of your environment will be picked up by your subconscious awareness and you will be predicting without even knowing how. Camping is the perfect environment to sharpen your survival skills of weather prediction. You could even make a game out of it for the whole family. First one to accurately predict the weather is free from dish duty for the day and gets served first every meal.

Methods of Operation

There are several great indicators that help you to predict weather change.

Wind:
  • The wind can be a very accurate predictor of changing weather. If the wind increases or changes direction, the conditions around you are changing. Be very aware. If the wind changes dramatically than there is usually a great change of weather on the way.
Sun & Moon:
  • "If a circle forms 'round the moon, It will rain soon" This circle or ring around the sun or moon is called a halo. A ring around the sun or moon means that precipitation, usually rain is on the way. The ring is created when tiny ice particles in fine cirrus clouds scatter the light of the moon and the sun in different directions.
  • "Red skies at night, sailor's delight; red skies at morning, sailors take warning." This old saying that you have probably heard a time or two has great validity. When the morning sun turns the sky a crimson red, it is often an indication that low pressure is bringing precipitation and a storm is on the way. A red sky at dusk indicates that the next day will most likely be just fine. The sun is just happily shining through the dust particles. Delight in it, as the sailors do.
Animals:
  • The animals themselves are known to be great meteorologists. Animal behavior can be remarkably accurate in predicting weather, from temperature, precipitation and storms to the severity of the upcoming winter. The American Indians have observed animals for centuries and predicted weather with accuracy based on these observations. Animals are more likely to react to changes in the environment. They pick up on subtleties that we often do not and they sense the movements in air pressure. Movements in air pressure precede all weather changes.
  • Birds flying high in the sky usually indicate a nice, clear day. Most birds tend to fly lower to the ground just before a rain, especially insect-eating birds. This is true especially with the insect-eating birds called swallows. They fly lower because the insects are also flying lower. Insects can only fly as high as the air pressure (barometric pressure) allows them to and the swallows go where ever the food is.
  • Some water birds also fly low across the water when precipitation is on the way.
  • Seagulls are very sensitive to barometric pressure changes. Often seagulls return to land when the air pressure (barometric pressure) drops, signaling stormy weather approaching.
  • Bees and butterflies disappear just before it is going to rain. They sense the drop in barometric (air) pressure and will instinctively seek the cover of their nests and homes.
  • Most animals become very quiet just before it rains.
  • Some Native American tribes say that the snowfall in the upcoming winter is predicted by the snowshoe hare, otherwise known as the varying hare. If the hares leave very wide footprints in the fall, these extra-furry hind feet are a sign of heavy winter snowfalls that are on the way.
  • Another belief of some Native American tribes is that black bears predict severe winter weather by sleeping farther away from the den opening than usual. During fall, prior to a mild winter, the black bear will sleep close to the den opening. I would not go looking for any black bears while camping though, to predict the upcoming winter. It is best to avoid bears if possible, although they rarely attack, at times they do. When pressed, they usually retreat, even with cubs. Remember to keep your food in a safe place back at camp, such as the trunk of your car, to avoid them from visiting your den.
  • The bees come out and get busier when fair to good weather approaches.
  • It is scientifically proven that you can find the temperature by measuring the mating calls of the cricket. To find the temperature:you must first count the number of chirps per minute the cricket makes. Subtract 40 from this number. Divide the result by 4. Add 50. The result of this calculation is very close to the temperature of the environment the cricket is in.
Trees & Flowers:
  • "When leaves turn their back 'tis a sign it's going to rain." Many trees, such as maple and oak, have leaves that will curl when the wind is blowing and the humidity is very high. Humidity and high winds precede stormy weather.
  • Flowers do indeed smell best just before a rain. Stormy weather will most likely follow when the flowers seem to be the most fragrant.
  • The scent in the air is a great indicator of approaching precipitation. Plants release their waste in a low pressure atmosphere. This waste has a scent of compost and predicts rain.
Fire Smoke:
  • When smoke rises from a fire and then sinks low to the ground this is usually an indication of a storm front approaching.
  • On a clear day, the smoke from the campfire rises steadily.
  • Campfire smoke that starts swirling and descending is a sign of low pressure. Low pressure (barometric pressure) usually means that a storm or bad weather is usually on the way.
Clouds:
  • One of the easiest and best indicator of a change of weather are the clouds. Clouds give a great deal of information about approaching weather. If there are no clouds in the sky, then the weather is usually fair.
Cloud Classification: Understanding the different kinds of clouds will help you predict weather patterns. Identifying different clouds allows you to read the clouds. They have what you could call a language of their own. It is also a fun camping activity to involve the entire family in cloud identification. Clouds are classified by three things.
#1 Shape
#2 Distance from the earth
#3 Rain-producing
#1 Shape
Cirrus (Latin for "curl of hair") - These are stringy, fibrous clouds.
  • "Trace in the sky the painter's brush, The winds around you soon will rush." Cirrus clouds are what this rhyme is referring to. The clouds are the painter's brush. Often these high-level ice clouds precede the approach of precipitation.
Cumulus (Latin for "heap") - These are puffy clouds. Often they look like a fluffy piece of cotton floating in the sky separate from one another. Sometimes these clouds look like a person or an animal.
  • Cumulus clouds show fair weather but keep an eye on them. Any vertical growth in these clouds can indicate a sudden change of weather and the beginning of a storm.
Stratus (Latin for "layer") - These clouds form long bands and layers that can cover great distances. These clouds are flat and wispy.
#2 Distance from the earth
Cirro - Clouds whose base begins at or above 20,000.
Alto - Clouds whose base begins somewhere between 6,000 and 20,000.
#3 Rain-producing
Nimbo (as a prefix) or nimbus (as a suffix) - Clouds that produce rain.
  • NImbostratus clouds are your standard rain cloud. These clouds look like a large, flat sheet of grey cloud. If you see these clouds there is a good chance that it will rain.
Other indication of changing weather:
  • "When the dew is on the grass, Rain will never come to pass. When grass is dry at morning light, Look for rain before the night." There is some validity in this old rhyme. If the grass is dry and free from morning dew, it is likely that there are strong winds and rain is very likely on the way. If there is dew on the grass in the morning it is thought that there will be no rain, unless of course the grass is wet from rain the prior night.
  • "When sounds are clear, rain is near." This is true because sound travels farther before a storm.
Closing Notes: Camping is a joy in life that creates memories for a lifetime. Whether you are camping with your spouse, your family, your best buds or even solo with the trees, understanding signs and clues to weather changes is both fun and valuable.

Review: YogaPro Batik Eye Pillow

YogaPro Batik Eye Pillow Review

Eye pillows make great gifts for everyone that you know.  They are well-received, especially by yogi's, people who meditate, pregnant women, new moms and new dads, travelers or anyone that you want to encourage to relax more.

Eye pillows, also known as dream pillows and yoga eye pillows are the epitome of pampering.  The gentle weight of the pillow is just enough pressure to soothe the eyes and the scent brings more joyful mindfulness into a moment of rest and relaxation.  Eyes often hold lots of stress, fatigue and tiredness.  The simple act of using a yoga eye pillow during mediation or relaxation can have dramatic effects.  They are also said to work for those troubled by nightmares.

Everyone loves eye pillows, at least that is the case in my circle.  Being without an eye pillow for us is like being without a pillow for the head ... it is important.  Prices vary when it comes to yoga eye pillows and when I saw that that YogaPro carried eye pillows for only $5 I had to try them.  Even if you make your own eye pillows the material and ingredients will cost more ... What a deal, if they are nice anyhow.  So I eagerly awaited ... and the verdict .... The YogaPro Batik Eye Pillow is nice.  I am going to buy a bunch of them as Christmas gifts this year.  I was pleased with the Batik.

This is a 100% cotton, purple eye pillow that has a subtle, yet comforting scent to it.  It is said to be lavender scented although I really do not smell any lavender.  Instead it has a light, sweet healing scent.  If you like you can put essential oil around the edge of the fabric as desired.  You can freeze this eye pillow for added relief.  I have seen similar products selling for over fifteen dollars ... quite a deal!

Price: $5.00

Pros
  • Made in USA
  • Great Price
  • Freezer friendly
  • Nice scent
  • Pretty purple
Cons
  • Always exercise caution if you have known allergies.
  • Only available in purple

YogaPro yogatoes® Review, The ORIGINAL Toe Stretcher

YogaPro yogatoes® Review,  The ORIGINAL Toe Stretcher

My family and myself have found yogatoes® to be addictive ... quickly comforting and realigning misbehaving toes and soothing tired, beat-up feet.

When practicing the discipline of yoga the yogi quickly learns the importance of the feet, our body's foundation and source of mobility. The importance of the feet cannot be underestimated.  They are our connection and roots to our great mother earth. Our feet can keep us grounded and balanced.  The feet are also important in balancing the first chakra because first chakra nadis flow from the tailbone down the legs into the feet.  It is crucial to take good care of your feet ... to love your feet in order to keep the connection to Mother Earth clear and strong, thus increasing happiness and well-being.  Yogatoes®  help with maintaining foot health and a miriad of troubles, while preventing any further problems from occurring.  They message, stretch and strengthen toes ... You can literally see the difference.

My naughty toe is nicknamed "the misbehavior", a hammertoe that is developing on my left foot.  "The misbehavior" hurts as he leans over, afraid to be a inter-dependent being ... my hammertoe chooses to be co-dependent with his buddy next door ... YogaToes corrected this problem.  They work well and quickly ... a joy to where, especially with the yogatoes®  Deluxe Massagers ($14.95).  The massagers attach to the yogatoes®  and vibrate ... pure heaven.  You can use YogaToes® and the delux messagers in the hot tub, foot bath and bathtub because both are safe in water.

Yogatoes® are suppose to help with posture, realignment of the foot structure, circulation and the appearance of the feet.  Yogatoes®  exercise and stretch your toes without doing anything more than putting them on  ... You can freeze them or warm them up for added comfort and healing capabilities.  Great relief for tired feet.

A New Tradition: Anya's Annual Winter Solstice Giveaway Event

A New Tradition: Anya's Annual Winter Solstice Giveaway Event

winter

        solstice photo stonehenge

Anya is starting a new annual tradition on her blog. She has long been fascinated with this time of year, when, as a child, she noticed the cold, dark days of wintertime Philadelphia were made tolerable by the festive lights of Hanukkah and Christmas. In her neighborhood, Christmas lights were kept lit in windows until New Years Eve, brightening the dark streets and making the cold more tolerable.

This year, Anya is inaugurating a Winter Solstice Event on her new blog, hosted on her own website. The former blog site didn't allow her to see the email addresses of people who left comments, and some giveaway prizes went unclaimed when the winners couldn't be notified. Now, everyone will be notified immediately after their name is randomly chosen.

The celebration of lights will begin on the shortest day of the year, Dec. 21st, and continue through the lengthening days with a giveaway every day. Anya will also write about personal, perfumery, mystical and practical events that have shaped her in her art and life. It will be a lovely journey that she hopes to share with you, and with the giveaway gifts, pay it forward to the community of customers and natural perfume lovers who have helped build her businesses.

You can register at the blog to receive updates on posts, or subscribe to the RSS feeds for posts and/or comments by visiting the blog page.

Dr Bronner's Magic "All-One"

If organic, natural, green, affordable clean is what you have been looking for, you might want to take a look at this.

A man passionate about cleanliness, the genius of Dr Emanuel Bronner has certainly not gone unrecognized. His famous, iconic soap with the all-one, faith and cultural uniting message printed on each and every label has brought hygiene of body, mind and spirit to many since the birth of Dr Bronner's Magic Soaps back in 1948. This is a company unlike any other - unique in every way, pioneers in more ways than I care to count. Where do I begin? I could write a book on Dr Bronner's, each chapter more captivating than the last. I find myself flooded with thoughts, yet at the same time speechless. This family-owned and operated company, Dr Bronner himself and the products are truly amazing, a trump card above the rest. As I write this, a hot bath beckons, an experience that many would say cannot get any more interesting than the last, unless of course you have a bottle of Dr Bronner's Peppermint and if you are really lucky, someone to share the experience with. Once I tried this magical soap, I never turned back.

*What is so magical about Dr Bronners?*

The magic in the soap is in its versatility, purity, lather, scent, organic nature, sustainability, environmental-friendliness, effectiveness, biodegradability and labeling. It also has a lot of good karma, that continues to grow over time. When I was first introduced to Dr Bronner's I was in the middle of planning a really big camping trip. An image of the husband, baby, cat, dishes, laundry and Winnebago, along with myself all lathered up together amongst the trees and my remote pepper garden that travels with us, filled me with the breath of laughter and delight. This soap is so versatile you can clean up everything at the same time without hurting the trees and land, while using it as an insecticide for the plants. How fabulous ...

Bronner's Magic soap is the highest quality castile soap that you can get anywhere and is the #1 selling natural brand of soap in North America. What exactly is castile soap you ask? Castile soap is a soap made with the fat of a pure vegetable origin, usually olive oil, rather than animal fats such as tallow. It is highly prized for being gentle and versatile. Castile Soap originated in the Kingdom of Castilla, a part of the country that we know today as Spain. The name Castilla (or in English, Castile) means land or region of castles. Truly fitting is the name of this soap because Dr Bronner, and his family have indeed built an empire.

*The Bronner legacy*

/Only hard work can save us, but if we teach only our clan? We're all hated then! ... " /- Dr Bronner

The Bronner story all began in Heilbronn, Germany with a family of Jewish candle and castile soap makers. Born in 1908 into the soap making business, Emanuel Bronner learned the secrets of the trade early in his life. After much dispute with his father and uncles over soap and politics he moved to America in 1929, during Hitler's reign, urging his unwilling parents to do the same. Although young Emanuel feared the growing power of the Natzis, his father did not share these feelings, remaining stationed in his beliefs that they were German and there was nothing to be afraid of. Emanuel married a Catholic beauty named Paula and they had three children. In 1944 sickness caused Paula to be hospitalized and she sadly passed into the next lifetime, leaving Emanuel to raise their three children alone. Sometime in the 1940's Dr Bronner's parents, Berthold and Franciscka were killed, murdered in death camps. The Heilbronn soap company was nationalized and stolen by Hitler, although the secrets and formulas remained alive within the mind and heart of Emanuel. A tragic story, but one with a happy ending. Perhaps the death of his wife and parents was not in vain, for the loss of his loved ones was certainly a driving force in the passionate Emanuel's heart. A heart that would make his father proud beyond words ...

An example of a true hero, Dr Bronner was an alchemist. He has created gold, not of coin, although he did that too, but of heart. His words have touched the hearts of many and his soaps are the best available, clean in design and formula without chemical corruption and without even a trace of the energy of greed. His global influence continues, although Bronner himself passed on March 7, 1997, with the labels that still remain untouched and a family who "get's it." Dr Bronner's desire was to unite humanity across ethnic and faith divides, a peace plan to bring us all into harmony despite our differences, in recognition that at the core of all faith and all people exists commonality. This mission continues on with the success of Dr Bronner's Magic Soaps.

The inheritance of this empire by Emanuel's family is not gone without appreciation. Although spaceship earth has yet to be completely united, his message lives-on, as it continues to be printed on the labels of his soaps thanks to the family, whose respect for Dr Bronner's life work is quite apparent. His legacy carried on by his lineage, continues activism and the spread of Constructive Capitalism. This family of soap makers is
a winning team, an example of what cleanliness is all about.

*60th Anniversary*

In 2008 Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps celebrated its 60th anniversary and 150th year of making soap in the family. To mark this event, a new line of USDA organic products were introduced - a few of which I have tried out myself, including the peppermint lotion and the lavender - coconut lotions ... easily described as truly amazing.

The Bronner family also marked this special occasion by becoming Certified Fair Trade, as well as USDA certified organic. Aside from the pure castile soaps, both hard and liquid, Dr Bronner's has lotions, hand and body soaps, hair conditioning rinse and cream, organic lip balm, organic body balm, organic shaving gels, organic hand sanitizer, baby and sensitive skin care, sal suds cleanser, organic virgin coconut oil and alpsnack snacks.

*Closing Notes*

Dr Bronner's Magic "All One" is an important company, with an even more important mission. They have the absolute best products in the business, that are sure to have you hooked with the first use. Staying true to
their poetic grandfather's deep moral values, Dr Bronner's is sure to be around for a long time, keeping the earth, its inhabitants and society clean and fresh.

/"Yet the sun has shadows, learn to control your will; to enjoy life long happiness, not tears! Wait! Rise to the stars above & thrill! Arouse the very flames of life! Sweetheart, kiss me: Hold still, hold still! Listen to God's reward for strife! Rosebuds, slowly woken, break budding open! delicate, sweet, so on soft fingertips; shivering up your spine, red pulsing blood; in lightning speed through your pure body's
lips! ..."/ - Dr Bronner

Colin O' Donohoe & The Pangean Orchestra

Colin O'Donohoe's a name that will soon be ringing bells across the
globe ...

Colin O' Donohoe is a name that everyone will soon recognize. He began a global movement back in 2008 known as the Pangean Orchestra, living
proof that music is a universal language. Pangean comes from the word
Pangea which is derived from Ancient Greek, pan meaning "entire," and
Gaia meaning "Earth.

The Pangean Orchestra brings people and instruments together from all
over the world, creating some of the most dynamic music that I have ever
heard. Speaking in a unified voice, in the language of music, it
symbolically represents the one planet that is the home that we all share.

The Pangean Orchestra is a world music project that is unlike any other.
Although not all the musicians speak the same language, with the
direction of the professional conductor, performer and composer - Colin
O’Donohoe, a one-of-kind blend emerges. It has a large range of styles,
from ancient folk songs to modern electonica style pieces.

This is the first orchestra of its kind, an amazing and original idea,
giving us a look into different cultures and unique instruments. I never
knew I was missing out on the variety of musical instruments that are
within the vast and different cultures of the world. What a genius idea ...

Colin O' Donohoe is a multi-talented American composer, musician and
songwriter, with immense talent and global value and vision. He is on a
peace mission to unite the people of the world in celebration, sharing
in the joy of music.

*Songs Of The Saints*

A music journey through many cultures,/Songs Of The Saints /(Ocean
Media, LLC, 2007) is a fusion of world music influences, each song a
reflection of the ideas the artist has about the saints that are a part
of this album.

Colin's musical style in this album is so unique, unlike anything I have
ever heard before. /Songs of the Saints/ is in a class all its own. You
can hear a little bit of Asia, some Middle East, a touch of Africa ... a
wide variety of influence from all over the globe, rich in diversity and
sound.

The album has a wide range of styles including jazz, hip-hop, world,
easy listening and rock and roll. It has a diverse climate, my moods
changing moment by moment. Sometimes I feel sad, at times excited, other
times compassionate, sometimes filled with love and even frightened
other times ... You name an emotion and I am sure this album will
trigger it in you. Full of character, without limitations, distinct in
elements and qualities, /Songs of the Saints /is an emotional roller
coaster ride unlike anything you have ever experienced before.

/Songs of the Saints/ is gift to us all, a bridge to the world of
spirit. This spiritual, world album has interwoven elements of
Christianity expressed with a modern twist. Each song resonates with the
titled Saint in an almost mystical way, as though Colin was divinely
inspired by the presence of the Saints themselves. The songs tell the
story of the saint, in a way only music could.

I am completely hooked to track five, /St Sebastian/. It begins and ends
with what sounds like a church bell and contains haunting vocals,
intense drumming and wild record-scratching sounds.

My prediction for this album is that several of the tracks will find
themselves a nice role in the movies, especially track two and five,
devoted to St. Francis of Assisi and St Sebastian. The vocals on both
tracks are angelic, giving me visions of flying over vast territory and
land, looking for heart's that need my help.

*Tracks & Titles, Songs Of The Saints*

 1. St Michael the Archangel
 2. St Francis of Assisi
 3. St Catherine of Sienna
 4. St Brigid (Mary of Gael)
 5. St Sebastian
 6. St Valentine
 7. St Benedict
 8. Hail Mary
 9. Amazing Grace
10. Sonata Lucia (2nd Movement)

*Lyrical Sutras*

A sophisticated blend of electronica, /Lyrical Sutras/ (Ocean Media,
LLC, 2009) has grace and elegance, sparking my imagination while
relaxing and lifting my vibration to great heights. The 12 tracks on the
album are split into three sections: Meditation, Prayer and Awaken.

The album showcases O'Donohoe's talent for creating a rich and diverse
musical composition, that adds a wealth of ambiance and atmosphere when
played. His talent for expressing ideas through music is pure genius,
the mark of a truly talented artist.

Lyrical Sutras makes it easy to let go of the worries of the day and
"just be". As to be expected O'Donohoe interweaves a varied and diverse
blend of vocals, electronics and instruments from around the world.
/Lyrical Sutras/ puts you on the fast train to good mood city.

Essential Family Camping Tips

Many families are now camping for their vacations. The popularity of camping is on the rise and this bandwagon is definitely worth jumping aboard. The connection with nature and loved ones that camping brings has value that is immeasurable. Camping is a great way to build deep and close relationships with family members. Shared experiences and memories help you to communicate and connect throughout life. Here are some tips to make your camping trip more safe and enjoyable.

  • Make a checklist of camping supplies and camping "to do's" in preparation of camping. Also make a checklist of safety concerns, especially if RV camping. RV's have a list of safety precautions that must be checked often.
  • Be sure bring a fire extinguisher and be well-aware of how to use it in case of an emergency.
  • Practice using your camping gear before hand to ensure you are familiar with how to set-up and use it properly.
  • In case you become injured or ill, you will need to take care of yourself before finding help. Be sure to always have a first aid kit with you and become familiar with basic first aid techniques.
  • Bring tin foil. You can cook so many meals within a tightly wrapped package of tinfoil. It is okay to be creative with meals. You do not have to settle for hamburgers and hot dogs every night. Think herbs, olive oil, steak, salmon, baked potatoes and grilled vegetables. Many meals can be prepared or partially prepared ahead of time, before you get to camp.
  • Your camping gear does not have to be expensive. If you are not ready to make any purchases consider renting. Many outfitters and camping stores offer tents and gear for rent.
  • If you get stranded somewhere you can eat grass, grasshoppers, clover, pine needles, slugs and flies. This should be inspiration enough to keep the next tip in mind.
  • Stay on the trails and do not wander away. Going into the wilderness unprepared can have very devastating results for adults and children alike. Always keep a compass and map on hand. If you can purchase a GPS system. Always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to be back.
  • Bring an outdoor rug. It will reduce the amount of dirt you track into your tent or RV and give a very warm and cosy feeling to your campsite. Make camping as much of a home away from home as possible. Pack a hand broom and dustpan also to keep things tidy.
  • Bring lots of light sources and lots of extra batteries. Have spare sets of batteries for the spare set.
  • Shower curtains make great ground tarps, especially when being frugal.
  • Use biodegradable soaps, detergents and shampoos and be sure to use them at least 200 feet away from water sources. All soaps, even biodegradable ones can contaminate water sources.
  • Consider making your camping trip as green and organic as possible. This will help you connect with nature and yourself in a very loving, compassionate way. Many health food stores now carry vegetable based tableware that is biodegradable.
  • Be sure to practice the 'Leave No Trace' Rule and leave your camp in better condition than you found it.
  • Take all your trash with you and dispose of it properly. Although waste food is often biodegradable it can take some time to break down and while this is occurring many wild animals will be attracted to the smell. They could make quite a mess with your left over mess and possible even get sick.
  • Be sure to avoid eating or having any kind of food in your tent - ever. Store coolers in the trunk of the car or string your food high in a tree to keep wild animals from getting a hold of it.
  • Never ever pack your tent, clothing or sleeping gear away wet, making it prone to mildew. Make sure everything is dried thoroughly. It might seem like common sense but the importance of this reminder can not be stressed enough.
  • Bring a hammock and thank me later.
  • If sleeping on the ground doesn't seem much fun or comfortable consider an air mattress.
  • Do not light fires unless there is a designated place to build a fire or it is essential for your survival.
  • Bring duct tape. You can use it to patch tents and so much more.
Closing Notes:

Camping should be enjoyed. It is a time to relax, connect with nature and each other. You could camp every day of your life and each day brings a different experience to the table. I have found that getting out into the elements and connecting allows me to truly come alive. I hope it does this for you too. I wish you success and joy and lots and lots of camping fun and memories.

Ten Beauty & Cosmetic Brands & Products That I Love

This beauty must-have list is sure to help you kick off the season on the right foot.

I literally try hundreds of products, most of which do not really strike any chords, barely even creating a memory. There are of course those gems in the beauty business. The cosmetic industry certainly has a treasure chest full of them. Those rare jewels are the products that make being a beauty editor one of the best jobs around. I often get asked if I have a favorites list. You asked and here it is, some of my most loved beauty elixirs, products and companies that I honesty can recommend to you. Although this is in no way a complete list, I have lots of favorites, I present to you ten of the best cosmetics and companies that I have found over the last year in no particular significant order. Oh alright, I get things jump started with the Numero-Uno, and the remaining nine come in second to the Hungarian Queen of Beauty - Eminence.

Eminence Handmade & Organic Skin Care Of Hungary

The Hungarian women of the world have been known to have some of the most treasured secrets of ancient beauty since times of old. This legend of Hungarian beauty has lived through-out history. Royalty would travel through Europe with hopes of absorbing the techniques of the Hungarians, bathing in thermal springs and eating the nutrient-abundant agriculture of Hungary. It is this rich soil that continues to create potent elixirs, cosmetics, lotions and potions today in the Eminence formulas. Organic living has always been a way of life in Hungary and this creates the nutrient-dense soil that spills over into the crops. Eminence continues this tradition by following the age old techniques of our Hungarian ancestors to achieve the prized results.

The soil and tender loving care given to the ingredients life cycle is a big reason why Eminence products are so potent. A lot of love and wisdom goes into each and every batch, every step along the way.
Handmade in Hungary, Eminence is truly a treasure and in a class all its own. Powerful in results, Eminence products are used in top spas around the world and continues to win the favorite skin care line by spa professionals, year after year.

I love using Eminence products. They are colorful and smell delicious, bursting with fruit pulp and juices. Eminence products are so organic that you could actually eat them. I could not make products this fabulous myself, unless of course I traveled to Hungary, learned their secrets and used ingredients from the soil, tended in traditional loving ways. I am pretty sure I would also need the blessings of a Hungarian also.
Eminence is green, natural and organic. For more information about Éminence Organic Skin Care please visit eminenceorganics.

Pros
  • Handmade
  • Used in top spas
  • Award-winning
  • Organic
  • 100% Natural
  • Green
Cons

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo is a top pick for me because put simply "I Love this stuff." I have been hooked since I began using it for camping and festivals to stay "fresh and desirable", falling in love with the convenience of dry shampoo and the the way it gives my hair volume seemingly effortless. Effortless is good, especially when you are living in a tent or motor home for a day or two, or for even an afternoon. Music festivals and campgrounds are so much funner when you feel gorgeous. Now-a-days, festival season or not, I carry a can, no matter where I go.

Dry shampoo, if you haven't guessed it, is a powdered shampoo that is designed to work without water. Dry shampoo makes your hair look and smell clean, even when its not. It also gives your hair more volume. Over washing your hair can strip it of the natural oils your body provides and when it comes to hair washing less can actually be more. I have definitely noticed a difference in the condition of my hair since I stopped washing it so much. Although many companies have there own version of dry shampoo, Batiste is my favorite. Batiste is the #1 dry shampoo brand in the UK. It is inexpensive and works really well for me. If your hair is really dark, however you might find that this product leaves a gray cast in your hair. Be sure to follow the directions to avoid this from happening. For more information please visit Batiste Dry Shampoo at batistehair.

Pros
  • Add immediate volume to hair
  • Low-cost
  • Nice scent
  • #1 brand in UK
Cons
  • If hair is really dark, product might make hair appear grey
  • Although inexpensive, product goes fast
Viviscal

Viviscal is a vitamin supplement specifically formulated to help regrow and strengthen hair. This all natural vitamin helps to promote hair growth and at the same time improving hair quality. When I heard about this product I was both excited and skeptical. I always thought it would be so fabulous to have a vitamin for the hair that actually showed results. Viviscal's special blend of ArminoM Marine Complex polysaccharides is derived from deep-sea fish.

You take two tablets a day and results begin to show within a few months. I could see results within two months of using this product. My hair appeared stronger and with less breakage. Although I am really uncertain if this will work for everyone, it worked quite well for me. The cost of a monthly 60 tablet box of Viviscal is $33.33. To learn more about Viviscal please visit viviscal.com.

Pros
  • All natural, vitamin supplement
  • Reasonably priced, bordering pricey
  • Strengthen and regrow healthier hair from the inside, rather than topically
Cons
  • Does not show results for 2-3 months
  • You must continue to take this supplement
A Wild Soapbar

I have been obsessed with natural, real soap ever since my first time around the block in college, when I made a batch myself. Mad Hippie Skin Care

In case you missed the beauty train the last decade, natural, organic and green no longer means "the Winnebago is in the driveway, clothing is optional and the granola is packed. Did I mention Dr Bronners?" I myself have always been a proud hippie, listening to the greats like Led Zepplen, Lynard Skynard, the Beatles and CCR while enjoying the company of the neighborhood weeds. Most people do not know the treasures that grow in their own backyard. Wildcrafting is the official name, but to everyone else, they call them weeds and when I talk to them I am a nature loving, tree hugging hippie. I love the wild too much to care and I must admit the name of this company is where the initial attraction was. Not sure what to expect I awaited my Mad Hippie face cream and Mad Hippie vitamin C serum. I love vitamin c serum and am on a secret mission to create my own some day ...

As a natural and organic beauty product junkie, I can never have enough healthy cosmetics. I am happy with both products that I received, especially the face cream. It is not too heavy, nor does it break my skin out the way some face creams do. It contains soenzyme Q10, resveratrol, green tea and matrixyl 3000. The full ingredient list is provided on the website. For more information please visit Mad Hippie at madhippie.com.

Pros
  • Natural, organic beauty line
  • Full ingredient list available

Kelly Teegarden Organics (KTO)

Kelly Teegarden, the founder of this extra-ordinary line is an inspiration. She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after the sixth sense of her intuitive mother sent her to her doctor to get checked out for an abnormality that only she noticed at the time. "She spotted the erroneous tumor on my throat; she is the angel that saved my life.", Kelly says about her mom who so adamantly told her she must get her neck checked out even though the doctors said everything was fine. As Kelly Teegarden says, "Everyone is fallible, even the doctors." Her courage, determination and strength in her fight against cancer is heart touching. A mother of three young children and near death, Kelly prayed to God, asking for a second chance at life. She made a deal with the divine stating that if she came through the horrific suffering, with another opportunity at life she would do something incredible, something amazing to give back to the world ... and she did. This story never fails to create such a stir of emotion in me. I have deep respect for this woman whose suffering she transformed into a miracle that touches the hearts of many.

Kelly Teegarden has created an affordable line of products that is completely chemical free. She created KTO when she learned that the cause of her cancer and the cancer of so many others is from chronic stress and toxic chemicals. Her mission is to create a safe line of products that nourish, protect and work great. I am completely addicted to her rose water. This is my favorite brand of rose water ever. Once you try it you will know why. There are absolutely no cancer causing ingredients, no hormone disruptors, no organ toxicity and no toxic levels of ingredients in any of these products. I cannot wait to try this entire line. For more information please visit Kelly Teegarden Organics.

LIna Hanson, make-up artist and author of Eco-Beautiful: The Ultimate Guide to Natural Beauty and Wellness, work has taken her all around the globe. In her travels she began to research, study and collect beauty secrets and anti-aging ingredients from all around the world. With this wisdom and her stock of oils gathered from countries such as South Africa, Morocco, Brazil and India LIna created an extra-ordinary, unique and exotic face serum. The global face serum reduces inflammation, diminish lines and wrinkles, restore elasticity, refines, tightens, erases dark spots, protects, and minimizes lines and wrinkles, fights inflammation. It works! and improve your complexion. Lina's serum helps promote a glowing complexion no matter what your skin type or your age. I found that this serum made a big difference in my skin in just a few days. The results are dramatic. My skin looks more balanced, younger with an improved skin texture, glowing all day long without any make-up on. I feel so spoiled with this serum because it was created combining the ingredients and wisdom cherished by women for centuries and it works like a miracle. It has an aromatic scent that I adore, a combination of the essential oils. Lina says that the aromatherapy benefits of the serum are to relieve anxiety and uplift the mood. My husband likes it and that uplifts my mood ...

At $85.00 for 30ml/1 fl oz. this serum is definitely a splurge, but to me it is well worth it. Fair trade, green, eco-friendly, cruelty-free and handmade with 100% natural and organic ingredients, the Global face serum is completely free of synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, artificial fragrance, parabens, silicone or any other chemical ingredient. Several of the ingredients are harvested by women world wide to promote their economic growth and to give them a sense of empowerment. Empowering the woman of the world, this I like ...
