Review: Dreambirds

On Natsama's seventh birthday his grandmother, a wise medicine woman, tells him about the dreambird.   "At the beginning & ending of every day ", grandmother said, "dreambirds spread their wings. One wing reaches out to the sun & the other reaches out to the moon. Whoever finds a dreambird receives a great gift."

His grandmother teaches him the ways of nature, the healing herbs and the difference between hearing & listening.  Natsama was determined to catch himself a dreambird and claim his gift so he worked hard becoming one of the best hunters in the village, soon to realize that to find a dreambird is not so easy as the others.

Both the story and the artwork are beautiful, rich, empowering, engaging and inspiring.  Dreambirds is wonderful for children and adults, with a powerful message and a gift also for the reader, when Natsama reveals the truth about the dreambirds.  Highly recommended!!!
