Album Review: Harp Music for Healing, Sarajane Williams

Harp Music for Healing, Sarajane Williams

One of the oldest musical instruments, the harp has been cherished for millennia.

Any mention of the elegant, graceful harp conjures up images of stories throughout history, mythology and the bible. One of the oldest musical instruments in the world, the harp is an extremely special, unique instrument. Some would say that it is magical, as it holds unusual great power in its ability to charm, heal, chase off evil and uplift the spirits.

The harp can be found through-out history, common in many diverse cultures. Said to be an instrument of the angels, the harp is known to be a bridge that links heaven and earth. The harp is considered an important instrument for healing. Harp therapy has been gaining recognition, becoming an increasing popular form of relaxation and healing. Clinical studies now show the therapeutic benefits of the harp in reducing stress and anxiety, and relief from emotional and physical suffering.

Harp Music for Healing (Sounds True, 2011) is a 19-track album, with nearly 1 hour and twenty minutes of angelic beauty. This is a collection of solo performances by the talented Sarajane Williams.

I find this album to be extremely calming, putting me a relaxed and receptive mood immediately. The healing vibrations cause reflection, tranquility and acceptance. Like a cool, clean water cleanse, Harp Music for Healing, cleans the heart and soul of any dis-harmony that would lead to dis-ease. Williams' soothing rhythms and lush harmonies feel like a gateway into the spiritual dimension of the soul. A refreshing album to play anytime that peace is desired.

Harp Music for Healing is perfect for mediation, yoga, all forms of healing, sleep and putting the little ones to bed. I also found that this album helped my focus, making it ideal for work environments as well.

Harp Music for Healing is a golden ticket to the ethers. For more information or to order please visit Sounds True.
