Review: The Errant Knight

The Errant Knight
Written by Ann Tompert
Illustrated by Doug Keith

This is the story of a knight, called to serve his king.  The knight is determined to be a devoted servant, rather than an errant knight wandering aimlessly about the kingdom.  With the golden spurs that the king sent him, he immediately set out on his journey to the castle riding his fastest horse.  He was determined to be a great knight, loyal in his duty to the king.  Although the knight was focused and excited to get to the castle, there were many delays along the way and many people who needed his help.   His compassion and kind nature prevent him from turning his back to the people.

This is a charming tale that is meaningful and engaging, with a wise king whose words show one of a great and loved leader of the people.  A beautiful and touching book that promotes human dignity and honor and virtuous lesson.  I liked it more than I thought I would.  Great for boys and girls ...
