Review: Oro de Sonora Jojoba Oil

Lots of buzz these days about Jojoba (pronounced with an H sound in place of the J's) oil.  Actually there has been lots of buzz about this golden elixer for quite some time now.

This jack-of-all-oils has been known to mankind for ages and used for its moisturizing and emollient properties. Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax derived from a jojoba seed. It was used by the early Native Americans for many things, including wound treatment and skin healing. This prized oil became very important to the cosmetic industry in the 1970s, when whaling was banned and sperm whale oil was no longer available.

Golden in color in its pure organic form, it offers a wide variety of benefits, everything from cosmetics to pesticides.  It has incredible versatility.

An excellent moisturizer suitable for daily use, Jojoba Oil nourishes and revitalizes skin, relieves sunburn and can be used on hands, nails and hair. Jojoba Oil is remarkably similar to the natural sebum secreted by our own skin.  Jojoba is the carrier of choice for the perfumery industry because it does not oxidize or become rancid.  Jojoba oil is hypo-allergenic, so it will not cause reactions on the skin and will not clog pores.  Jojoba has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a useful treatment for acne, skin wounds and to soothe mild infections.  Jojoba oil is resistant to spoilage, heat damage and rancidity. because in addition to its hydrating, hypoallergenic and long-lasting properties, makes it a great base product for many cosmetics.
