Review: Digestive Intelligence by Dr. Irina Matveikova

Digestive IntelligenceFor those of you who have always understood the connection between the emotions, life experiences and other parts of the whole self effecting digestion, this book is for you.  For those of you who have never thought this way, this book is also for you and for those of you who do not believe such a thing, perhaps you should read it right away.

Digestive Intelligence is a holistic view of the digestive system.  The book explains that the digestive system contains more than one million neurons, identical to those in the brain and is responsible for producing 90% of the body’s hormone, serotonin, the all-important hormone which makes us feel happy and full of well-being.

When our bellies are not quite working harmoniously it can actually make us feel irritable, putting us into a bad food.  Our tummies can also create lethargy, and block our intellectual productivity.  So you can see whey digestive health is so important.

I highly recommend this book, especially to those who have digestive troubles!
