Review: Granny’s Clan by Sally Hodson

Granny’s Clan: A Tale of Wild Orcas by Sally Hodson is an educational and fun story about a family of orcas, their relationships to one another and all of life.

The family does everything together ... travel, dive, eat, breath, swim and celebrate oneness.

Granny knows the secrets of the waters, the wisdom of the sea she has embraced for 100 summers and 100 winters.

The reader is taken on an adventure through the world of a clan of wild orcas, led by Granny.  She is the guide, the sage, the keeper of the ways of life ... a wise woman!
Encouraging children to love the once feared wild orcas, the book is a fun way to to teach how similar these beautiful animals are to humans and what lovely creatures they are.

The illustrations bring greater detail and depth to the story, making learning and listening a delightful experience.  The back of the book includes educational material that will be interesting for the entire family.  I sure learned a lot from this book, and have certainly gained a great knowledge of the wild orcas.
I recommend this book, especially for teachers with children aged 4 to 10.
