Review: Coyote Jump - Waking from the Roots

I could tell from the first twenty seconds of the debut album Waking From The Roots by Coyote Jump that this album was quite different than any other Native American music that I have heard before.

Waking From The Roots takes the audience on a multi-faceted ride infused with global rhythms blended with a classic Native American sound.

Comprised of composer and multi-instrumentalist Colin Farish and Native American flutist John-Carlos Perea, Coyote Jump is a cultural melting pot that invokes peace and well-being from the very core of the earth.  This album features performances by Chanticleer, Glen Velez, Jeremy Cohen,  Kai Eckhardt, Glen Moore, Will Clipman and Savannah Jo Lack.

Waking From The Roots is an epic odyssey with melodies and rhythms that inspire transition, movement, mindfulness and connection to the heart of the self and the heart of earth and heaven.

Exotic instruments, guitar and piano interwoven with evocative string arrangements, with the Native American flute at the heart of it all create harmonic landscapes that are breathtaking! The entire album would make a great soundtrack for a film or documentary.
