When I learned that Louise Hay was going to write a book with Cheryl Richardson I was curious as to what these two woman would create together. Cheryl's radio program, Coach on Call, has been one of my favorite programs on Hay House Radio. If anyone has a lot of great advice to give it is Cheryl Richardson. A small, hardcover of 164 pages, You Can Create An Exceptional Life is an easy read. The information is straightforward, easy to understand and to absorb. I would have loved to see this book much longer, although being a smaller book, it can be read in a day or two. Containing ways to create ... as the titles suggests ... an exceptional life, you are sure to gain a wealth of soul-soothing wisdom from woman who have lived the teachings themselves. Topics include starting off your morning right, aging gracefully, manifesting prosperity and abundance, facing death and creating fulfilling, harmonious relationships with everyone in your life.

Simply reading this book makes me feel more positive and happy, empowered and open to enjoying life fully. It feels like I am one of the girls, sharing intimate moments with Cheryl and Louise. The book is written from the perspective of Cheryl, quoting Louis throughout it, and sharing in her thoughts about the conversations that the two of them share. I really enjoyed the way that Cheryl organized the book, highlighting life coaching methods along the way. For myself, the most touching parts of this book are when Louise talks about her experiences on the Hay Ride, giving the reader a deeper look into this important time of her life. I love the idea of being the creator of my own reality and although the ideas presented in this small book appear simple, the results can change your life in a big way.

Review: Digestive Intelligence by Dr. Irina Matveikova

For those of you who have always understood the connection between the emotions, life experiences and other parts of the whole self effecting digestion, this book is for you.  For those of you who have never thought this way, this book is also for you and for those of you who do not believe such a thing, perhaps you should read it right away.

Digestive Intelligence is a holistic view of the digestive system.  The book explains that the digestive system contains more than one million neurons, identical to those in the brain and is responsible for producing 90% of the body’s hormone, serotonin, the all-important hormone which makes us feel happy and full of well-being. 

When our bellies are not quite working harmoniously it can actually make us feel irritable, putting us into a bad food.  Our tummies can also create lethargy, and block our intellectual productivity.  So you can see whey digestive health is so important. 

I highly recommend this book, especially to those who have digestive troubles!

Review: Angel Astrology 101 Doreen Virtue, Yasmin Boland

Angel expert Doreen Virtue and astrologer Yasmin Boland have teamed up and created a lovely colorful and informative book titled Angel Astrology 101.  I love Yasmin Boland.  Check out her horoscopes and website where she has lots of great material.  Doreen Virtue has changed the way the world relates to the angels.  

This book is very unique, perfect for the newbie and seasoned alike.  It fits nicely into my purse and the diaper bag, so I can pull it out when I have a few minutes and get a nice healthy dose of angelic, astrological inspiration.

Review: Nature Portals Cards

What a lovely deck of affirmation cards, with beautiful nature images to match.  The 52 large format (4″x 6″) cards in the Nature Portals card deck combine nature photos with uplifting words, connecting you with nature and the magic of it all.  An inspiring deck!

A collector of affirmation and oracle decks I am happy to have such a unique and spiritual deck in my collection.  I cannot recommend these cards enough, especially to nature lovers.  The images are stunning!

I tried three different products from this large skin care line: the balancing oil-free skin conditioning serum, facial lotion and the enzyme mask ... and I am completely hooked on them all, especially the facial lotion.

The facial lotion is a rich and creamy lotion that does not burn my eyes at all, so I actually use it as an eye cream too.  It is super luxurious and never, ever breaks my skin out.  It is not oily, but gives my skin a supple and healthy glow.  I absolutely love this!!!

Review: Walking Wings

I found this interesting and cool invention that got my husband (with the bad back) all excited.  It is called Walking Wings and I have never seen anything like it before.  Walking Wings are a support vest that securely fastens around the chest of the baby and has two adjustable straps for parents to hold while baby learns to walk and attempts to take those first steps.  Created by pediatricians and medical experts to help babies safely learn to walk by balancing hands-free and experiencing fewer falls. Walking Wings eliminates the tugging and pulling on baby's arms which can result in Nursemaid's elbow, the most common orthopedic injury in children age 2.  Parents and caregivers benefit from Walking Wings by being able to better support baby while standing upright and not having to bend over.

Seashells by the Seashore is a board book, that teaches counting, as well as different types of shells.  What a fun book!  It has inspired me to take the little ones to the beach, in search of different shells.  Then we take the home and show daddy, telling him their names.

Children's Book Review: Dandelion Seed

There is something magical about a dandelion seed.  Perhaps it is the distance they can travel, or their ability to grow nearly anywhere and everywhere ... or maybe it is the ability they have to answer wishes.  Well, maybe I am getting ahead of myself here, because this lovely children's book by Dawn Publications has nothing to do with wishes, but this book does reaffirm the distance one seed can travel before it takes root and grows. 

As all books from Dawn Publications, this book is gorgeously illustrated and the story educational.   

The Dandelion Seed teaches about cycles, seeds, seasons and overcoming challenges and struggles.

Children's Book Review: Pass the Energy, Please!

The cover art from this instant classic is so striking, I nearly hung the image up on my child's wall.  I cannot help but fall into those owl eyes.  The artwork within is just as colorful and exciting.  Pass The Energy Please! is all about the food chain, an often difficult topic for children to understand.  

As beautifully written as it is illustrated, the book speaks in rhymes, making it fun and easy to read out loud.

The web of life speaks to those who open the Tree in the Ancient Forest.  This is a lovely story, with beautiful images to match.  Capturing the beauty, majesty, divine design and importance of the ancient forest, I enjoy this book more and more each time I read it.
