Review: Sharon Burch - Touch the Sweet Earth

Winner of the 1996 NAIRD Indie Awards for best Native North American album, Sharon Burchs', Touch the Sweet Earth is a contemporary expression of Navaho traditions. Most of the songs are sung in the Navajo language, as well as a little English.

Sharon's beautiful vocals soar with passion and emotion. Known for her Navajo style songs and songwriting, Touch The Sweet Earth is a collection of modern folk music expressing traditional Navajo ways of life. These songs are about the history, the stories and the experiences of the Navajo.  A rich tapestry of emotional, heart-felt Native American folk music that warms up a room and any who enter it.  Simply lovely ...

Sharon Burch performs regularly at folk festivals, fairs, schools and universities.  I would love to see her perform live sometime.  For more information on Sharon, her music or this album, please visit Canyon Records.
